Where are they now?: Eric Miller
Today marks Eric Miller‘s 33rd birthday – one of the most successful products of the Minnesota youth soccer system. The Woodbury native is preparing to kick off his 13th season in Major League Soccer. This year represents a year of stability and continued high-level competition for Miller, having just signed a new contract to remain a vital part of the Portland Timbers’ defensive rotation.
While many players begin to look toward retirement in their early 30s, Miller has proven to be an “iron man” of the league. On Dec. 23, 2025, the Timbers officially announced that they had re-signed the veteran defender to a new one-year deal through the 2026 season.
Coming off a 2025 campaign where he made 16 appearances and surpassed the incredible milestone of 200 career MLS games, Miller heads into his new year of life as one of the most respected and reliable defensive specialists in the Western Conference.
