Chacón makes brief appearance as Aarau falls to Stade Lausanne-Ouchy in six-goal thriller
Thomás Chacón and FC Aarau suffered a 4–2 defeat on the road against FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy on Friday afternoon at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise. The former Minnesota United playmaker made a brief cameo late in the second half of a chaotic match that saw all six goals scored in the opening 50 minutes of play, and his side reduced to 10 men.

The fans in Lausanne were treated to an absolute shootout in the first half. Aarau struck first in the 13th minute through Valon Fazliu, but the hosts responded quickly when Keasse Bah leveled the score in the 24th minute. The frantic pace continued as Aarau reclaimed the lead just one minute later courtesy of Shkelqim Vladi.
Refusing to back down, Stade Lausanne-Ouchy flipped the game on its head before the halftime whistle. Nicola Sutter tied the match at 2–2 in the 28th minute, and Bastien Conus gave the hosts their first lead of the day in the 39th minute. Malko Sartoretti then added an insurance goal shortly after the second-half restart (48'). Aarau's hopes of a comeback were severely dented when Victor Petit received a red card in the 72nd minute, capping off a frustrating 4–2 defeat for the visitors.
Chacón’s performance
With his team trailing by two goals and down a man, Aarau turned to Chacón in the 75th minute to try and salvage the match.

- The impact: The Uruguayan midfielder was energetic during his brief time on the field, recording 10 touches and completing 60 percent of his passes. He also contributed defensively with an interception and two recoveries, while managing to register a late shot on target despite his team being down a player. However, he did struggle slightly in his physical battles, committing two fouls and failing to win any of his four ground duels.
