Hunou's late cameo not enough as Clermont Foot suffers 2–1 defeat to Rodez

Adrien Hunou and Clermont Foot experienced a devastating finish on Friday afternoon, falling 2–1 to Rodez AF at the Stade Gabriel Montpied. Despite a dream start in front of their home supporters, Clermont surrendered a late goal to drop all three points.

The second half was a tense, back-and-forth battle with both sides chasing a crucial three points. Just as the match looked destined for a draw, Rodez's Kenny Nagera delivered the final blow in the 90th minute, snatching a dramatic 2–1 victory for the visitors and leaving the Clermont faithful stunned.

Manager Grégory Proment turned to the former Minnesota United playmaker late in the second half in hopes of breaking the 1–1 deadlock.

• The impact: The attacking midfielder struggled to get fully involved in the chaotic final minutes of the match, recording just six touches and completing one of his three pass attempts. Unfortunately, he was on the pitch as Rodez mounted their final attack and scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute.
