Minnesota United loans goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich to Brooklyn FC

Minnesota United has officially loaned young goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich to Brooklyn FC of the USL Championship for the 2026 season. The transaction includes a provision that allows the Loons to recall him if needed.

Gaining first-team experience

The move to the USL Championship is a strategic step to accelerate his development by providing regular professional minutes. Rizvanovich officially joined the first team in January after a standout 2025 campaign with the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side, MNUFC2. During his time with the reserve squad, the young shot-stopper made 17 starts across all competitions, recording 52 saves, allowing just 20 goals, and securing nine victories.

Minnesota United’s head of goalkeeping, Thomas Fawdry, noted that the opportunity to play regularly for Brooklyn FC will allow Rizvanovich to experience the demands of first-team football in a highly competitive environment. Fawdry added that the club believes this is the right time for him to be challenged, allowing him to further develop his game and demonstrate his potential to eventually become the future starting goalkeeper at Allianz Field.

Rizvanovich expressed his excitement about the move, sharing his gratitude for the opportunity and his eagerness to help build something special with his new club.

International pedigree

Before making the jump to the USL Championship, the young goalkeeper already began making a name for himself on the international stage. He has earned four call-ups between the United States U18 and U19 youth national teams. Most notably, he was a key member of the U18 squad that captured the UEFA Friendship Cup in Switzerland in June 2025, where he made crucial penalty-kick stops to secure the trophy for the United States.

Now, he heads to Brooklyn looking to translate that success into consistent professional minutes as he continues his promising trajectory.
