Eric Ramsay sacked by West Bromwich Albion after brief tenure

Former Minnesota United head coach Eric Ramsay has been dismissed by West Bromwich Albion just 44 days after taking charge at The Hawthorns. The Championship club announced the decision late Tuesday following a 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic that left the Baggies sitting fourth from the bottom, just a single point above the relegation zone.

Ramsay departs having failed to secure a victory during his short-lived return to England. He collected just four points in league play, and his squad struggled to find the back of the net before George Campbell broke a 405-minute goal drought in the first half of Tuesday’s match. The late equalizer from Charlton ultimately sealed his fate, capping off a difficult run where supporters had begun to voice their frustrations from the stands.

Assistant head coach Dennis Lawrence has also departed the club, while first-team coach James Morrison will take over on an interim basis ahead of a crucial weekend clash against relegation rivals Oxford.

The 34-year-old manager left Saint Paul last month to take on the challenge of leading the historic English club, but he will now be searching for his next opportunity after his turbulent stint in the Championship came to an abrupt end.
