Where are they now?: Jordan Adebayo-Smith

Today marks the 25th birthday of Jordan Adebayo-Smith, a player whose blistering pace and versatility across the front line made him an intriguing prospect for the Loons’ scouting department in 2024. After a year spent gaining valuable professional minutes in the USL Championship, Jordan is set to return to Saint Paul this month as the club begins its 2026 preseason preparations.

Adebayo-Smith spent the 2025 season on loan with Detroit City FC, where he became a consistent presence in the attacking rotation for Le Rouge. While he was primarily utilized as a dangerous option off the bench to stretch tired defenses, he earned several starts during Detroit’s mid-season push. He featured in 18 league matches and contributed to Detroit’s successful run into the USL Championship playoffs, including their dramatic quarter-final encounter against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

With his loan now concluded, Jordan returns to Minnesota for the final guaranteed year of his contract, looking to compete for a spot in the first-team rotation under the club’s new technical leadership.
