Whitecaps exercise option on Adrian Zendejas

Former Loons goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas will be on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC roster next year.

In its end-of-season roster update, the club announced it had exercised its option to keep Zendejas under contract for 2026.

His time with the Loons

Zendejas was on Loons rosters in 2020 and 2021, but was unable to break into the starting lineup due to the strong form of the goalkeepers ahead of him (Dayne St. Clair and Tyler Miller).

Where he’s been since then

After leaving Minnesota, Zendejas made stops at USL clubs (Charlotte Independence and Miami FC) before signing with Skövde AIK in the Superettan (Swedish second division) in 2024.

His performances in Sweden caught the eye of scouts back home. In February 2025, he signed a contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps, marking his return to Major League Soccer as an experienced backup option.

Once a Loon, always a Loon!
